ABOUT
Written by Cory Trout in November 2020, the poem “I Would Allow my Heart, Mind, Eyes…” speaks of that one person everyone has in their life who is dear to their heart, but distant in some way.
POEM
I would allow my heart to break, If it meant that yours would never ache. My mind could drive me quite insane, If it meant that yours would never feel pain. I would allow my eyes to weep for seven years, If it meant that yours would never shed a tear. I pray for you nearly every day, wherever you are; I remember that peculiar, sunny day.
