ABOUT
Written by Cory Trout in February 2021, the poem “Never Enough” speaks of no matter how many worldly things we experience, no matter how much we take in, it’s never enough.
Proverbs 27:20 “Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.” Ecclesiastes 5:10 “He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.”
POEM
Enough is never enough, No, not ever enough. “Take it all in” the world exclaims. But it won’t even fill today. “Numb it away” they say. But it can’t fix the secret pain. “Experience it all” they whisper. But it cannot sugarcoat that which is bitter. “Explore it all” they cry. But such things are poisonous lies. The LORD of Heaven alone turns darkness to light, The only light that puts our loathsome desires to flight.
